Henry Mitton Wilson lived in St Albans from 1905 until 1925. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and other London galleries.
Despite many changes to French Row, the view can still be recognised. The painting, undated, is an oil on canvas and is in the collection of St Albans Museums.
