Adeiladwyd a briciau coch mewn steil clasurol i wasanaethu fel
arfdy i Filisia Sir Aberhonddu yn ystod rhyfeloedd Napoleon.
Fe’i trawsnewidiwyd yn farics yn ddiweddarach. Anfonwyd milwyr
o'r barics hyn i roi terfyn ar derfysgoedd Merthyr yn 1831 ac yn
1839 i dawelu terfysgoedd y Siartwyr yn Llanidloes a Chasnewydd.
Erbyn heddiw dyma Amgueddfa Gatrodol Cyffinwyr De Cymru.
The Armoury
Built of raibrick in the classical style to serve as an armoury for the
Brcoonshire Napoleonic wars. Later convened to
barracks. Soldiers from these barracks barracks were sent to suppress
the Merthyr riots in 1831 and in 1839 to quell Chartist Riots
in Llandidloes and Newport. Now the Regimental Museum of the
South Wales Borderers.
