This steel square-lidded State Survey Marker is designated as PM8857, and is on the North-Eastern corner of Victoria and Citizen Streets, Goulburn, NSW.

It did not appear to have been used recently as there was some weeds growing in the gaps around the lid. On forcing it open the number 8857 could be read after wiping the dirt off that ants had spread all around the SSM pit.
When the dirt was dug out from the centre the brass plug was seen.
Elevation measured by GPSr was 613 m.
