This gazebo is situated on the north shore cliff overlooking Austin's Town Lake. A small stairway leads up to a concrete pad with a railing around it. The interesting feature of this gazebo is it's metal roof. The roof is designed as the Texas five-pointed star where each point of the star has two tones to give it a 3-dimensional look. In this star implementation half of of point is metal and the other half is open to the sky.
From the Smithsonian AIC Description:
A gazebo with five pointed star tin roof. Several sides of the tin roof are exposed to reveal the structural support underneath. Five steel columns support the large overhanging roof. At the top of the columns, a five pointed star and names of the artist, architect, public art coordinator appear below the stars. Above the inscribed stars, 18 large metal bolts connect the base of the roof to the columns. Another five-pointed star appears at the intersection of the roof in the middle of the gazebo.
