Sunset Crater Volcano began erupting between 1040-1100 AD, and possibly during the winter of 1064 to 1065 AD. You can no longer climb to the top of the crater but if you want to climb a crater there is a trail up Lenox Crater to the west.
The coordiantes are for the Lava Flow Trail nature trail that looks at some of the fasinating features of the lava flows.
Visit Instructions:A log will require a recent photograph at the coordinates. Some of these locations will be placed for the scenery, so a gpsr will just ruin the picture.
If you don't have a digital camera post a descriptive log.
