The first Eveleigh Farmers’ Market was held on Saturday, 28 February 2009 and since then its reputation has grown to one of the best growers markets in the country. Since its foundation the Market has seen an average of 3000 stallholders a year from farms across NSW come together to sell produce direct to the community. More than 150 000 people visit the Market each year.
The Market is held under cover in the Carriageworks building every Saturday between 8am to 1 pm. With over 80 stall holders the market features a variety of seasonal fresh produce including organic, bio dynamic foods from farmers and artisan food producers across New South Wales. Fresh, seasonal and homemade produce includes flowers, fruit and vegetables, breads, baking, meat, chocolates, jams, sauces, dairy products and cheeses. The Market opens at 8am and closes at 1pm but be sure to get there early in the morning as a lot of the stalls sell out of their stuff quite quickly.
The market entrance is at 243 Wilson Street, Eveleigh, near the corner of Codrington Street. The entrance has a disabled ramp for wheelchairs and prams.
