Trail Breaking
Long before wagons, bicycles and automobiles, people walked along what is now the Historic National Road. Shawnee, Delaware and Iroquois peoples created the footpaths followed by European explorers, early colonists, fur trades, settlers...and now you.

Go There - Hike nearly 80 miles of trails in Ohiopyle State Park. The Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail begins in Ohiopyle and ends 70 miles north in Seward, PA Choose to hike a small portion or the entire trail.
This Historic National Road Corridor is a state designated heritage area and a National Scenic Byway All American Road
