Old well converted to a fountain and then converted to a flower bed on the grounds of the Webster County Courthouse in Marshfield, Missouri.

The former fountain is constructed of cut stone. It has the appearance of a well. There are two stone plaques inscribed as follows:

Memorial Association Inc.

Hand dug well serving Marshfield
on the square from the late 1860s to
1925. 42 ft deep, solid rock at 11 ft
20 ft water. Uncovered & restored
as historical site Oct 1987 by
Webster Co. Veterans Memorial
Assn. & the Historical Society.
