Redécouvrir et protéger la nature
Le Centre écologique Fernand-Séguin fait partie d’Héritage Saint-Bernard, un organisme sans but lucratif de Montérégie qui a pour mandat d’assurer la protection, la gestion et la conservation du Centre, mais aussi de l’île Saint-Bernard, du ruisseau Saint-Jean et du parc de la Commune, et ce, depuis 1987. C’est grâce à cet organisme que le Centre est maintenant doté d’infrastructures et qu’on y offre de nombreuses activités récréo-éducatives afin de renouveler l’intérêt de la population pour la nature et d’accroître la conscience sociale face à sa conservation.
Une tonne d’activités
Le Centre écologique Fernand-Séguin comprend plus de 7 km de sentiers de marche dans une érablière à caryers. Au printemps et à l’automne, des guides-naturalistes sont présents pour faire découvrir la faune et la flore du boisé aux randonneurs. L’hiver, l’événement Neige en folie propose une foule d’activités gratuites aussi passionnantes que diversifiées (promenade en carriole, sculpture sur glace, château de neige, rallye, etc.) Le reste de la saison froide, on peut profiter de 25 km de pistes de ski de fond, de sentiers de raquette et de marche ainsi que d’une butte à glisser.
Une organisation enviable
Ouvert sept jours par semaine, le Centre offre également de nombreux services. S’y trouvent un chalet d’accueil, un centre de location d’équipement (ski de fond, raquettes et bâtons de marche nordique), le Café Séguin et des tables à pique-nique. De plus, un programme d’animation pour les groupes scolaires est disponible sur demande.
Rediscover and protect nature

A ton of activities
The Fernand-Séguin Ecological Centre comprises more than 7 km of walking trails in a maple-hickory. In spring and fall, naturalist guides are present to discover the fauna and flora of the wooded hikers. In winter, the Snow Madness event offers a host of free activities as exciting as diversified (sleigh ride, ice carving, snow castle, rally, etc.) The rest of the cold season, you can enjoy 25 km of cross-country ski trails, snowshoeing and walking trails and a hill to slide.
An enviable organization
Open seven days a week, the Center also offers many services. Found there a reception center, an equipment rental center (cross country skiing, snowshoeing and Nordic walking poles), the Séguin Coffee and picnic tables. In addition, an entertainment program for school groups is available on request.
