Text of historic marker on right side of building:

First housed a funeral parlor
until 1906. For the next 52 years
O. L. Beasley and his heirs the
Woodmancys operated a clothing
store. From 1962-77, it was a
sporting goods and liquor store.
Later a pawn shop, after extensive
remodeling it became a wood
carving shop and supply store.
Paintings are also done here.
Current owners are
The Storms and Andersons

The building is in good repair and is occupied by a woodcarving shop.
Date of Construction: c.1880

This brick one-part commercial block has a rectangular footprint that is three bays wide. Storefront fenestration defines the bays and consists of an entrance door flanked by aluminum-framed plate glass windows. These display windows rest on three-foot-high brick bulkheads. Vertically grooved pressed wood siding covers the remainder of the facade.

The accumulation of non-historic alterations compromises the integrity of the building. It no longer conveys its historic associations and it is non-contributing to the historic district.
