The North or Vrouwkerk is a three-aisled hall church , located between the Cattle Market and the Small North . In 1426 there was a wooden church building here . The stone church was built on the same site between 1441 and 1519. The choir , on the side of the Cattle Market , in the 18th and 19th centuries used as a poor church . It still contains the original rough wooden benches and pulpit (1635) . Particularly, the central staircase and the 17th century choir screen . Like the Oosterkerk the Noorderkerk is on the side of the North Little clock that hangs above the street.
The clock is placed in a angle of 45 dergees from the wall of the church.
