As the name suggests the sculpture, Birdhouse Man, is designed to function as a birdhouse. A panel door in the back of the sculpture allows access to the interior so the bird box may be maintained.
The Birdhouse Man was carved from a tree by David Conklin, of East Otis, MA. The sculpture is an 8' high wizard-like wood spirit with the top part having a face of a man with a long beard. The mouth is a circular opening and the top of his head forms a peaked roof. The rest of the sculpture suggest a long flowing robe that conceals any body parts.
