EN: The administrative office buildings Antshaus I-IV, as well as the residential and commercial building with the tower of the Urania observatory are a building complex of several representative houses south of the main railway station. They are home of large parts of the city administration of Zürich.
The historicist buildings show architectural citations from different eras, such as Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque. Although each of the houses has its own personality, yet their close relation is evident.
These five houses are the only realized part of a much bigger overall urban concept of the architect Gustav Gull. They were built in the first two decades of the 20th century.
DE: Die Amtshäuser I-IV, sowie ein Wohn- und Geschäftshaus mit dem Turm der Sternwarte Urania sind ein Baukompex aus mehreren repräsentativen Häusern südlich des Hauptbahnhofs. Sie beherbergen grosse Teile der städtischen Verwaltung von Zürich.
Die historisierenden Gebäude zeigen architektonische Zitate aus verschiedenen Epochen, wie Renaissance, Gotik oder Barock. Obwohl jedes der Häuser einen eigenen Charakter besitzt, ist trotzdem ihre Zusammengehörigkeit offensichtlich.
Diese fünf Häuser sind der einzige verwirklichte Teil eines noch viel grösseren städtebaulichen Gesamtkonzepts des Architekten Gustav Gull. Sie wurden in den ersten zwei Dekaden des 20. Jahrhunderts erbaut.
