EN: The so-called "Big House" is located on the main street in the center of Oltingen.
The three-storey house consists mainly of tufa blocks from a local quarry. The side facade has a round-arched door on the third floor, which was probably used to lift goods.
The history of the house and its original use are unknown. It dates from the Middle Ages, but it was only in 1618 first mentioned.
DE: Das sogenannte "Grosse Haus" befindet sich an der Hautstrasse im Zentrum von Oltingen.
Das dreistöckige Haus besteht vor allem aus Tuffquadern aus einem lokalen Steinbruch. Die Seitenfassade besitzt im dritten Stock eine rundbogige Tür, die vermutlich zum Aufzug von Waren benutzt wurde.
Die Geschichte des Hauses und seine ursprüngliche Verwendung sind unbekannt. Es stammt aus dem Mittelalter, doch wurde es erst 1618 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt.
