This Schmetterlingshaus (German for Butterfly House) is part of the Biosphere Park, a tropical indoor botanical garden in Potsdam, the capital of the German state Brandenburg.

The park was created as part of the Federal horticulture show in 2001 and was made a permanent exhibition after the show.

The house features 21 different species of tropical butterflies. It is open seven days a week and in addition offers special tours by appointment. Admission includes admission to the entire park.

Taking pictures of caterpillars and cocoons is so much easier than taking pictures of butterflies while they flutter by.
