Text on Marker: Boone's Lick Road
Thrall's Prairie - 1812
Marked By The
Daughters of the
American Revolution
And The
State of Missouri
1913
History of Mark:
The Boon's Lick Road stretching from St. Charles, MO to Old Franklin passed right by this small patch of prairie. Just west of the marker was the small community of Lexington which once had a post office, a tavern and a blacksmith shop. This was a popular stop over point for travelers on the Boone's Lick Road.
