
Royal Canadian Legion Branch #40 is well established in the community of Penticton. It offers assistance to veterans, widows and children of veterans.
Fun Family Day is an annual event sponsored by the Legion.
They provide a lounge, pool tables and weekly activities for members and guests are welcome. Tuesday is JAM Night and Bingo every Wednesday.
Penticton Branch No. 40 of the Royal Canadian Legion was originally constituted as the Great War Veterans Association in 1919. The Ladies Auxiliary to Branch 40 Penticton Royal Canadian Legion was chartered in 1928 and continues to support the Legion though fund raising events throughout the year.
We have no ides how common this is but the Penticton Legion had its entire executive ousted and replaced in 2012. It seems that the executive had failed to play by the rules, failing to submit financial reports, contravening of liquor and gaming licences and hust generally treating the Legion as their ow personal playground.
