This is a well made peace pole with four sides each in a different language: English, French, Japanese and Secwepeme (Shuswap First Nation people residing in British Columbia are known as Secwepemc.)
The peace pole was skillfully hand crafted by Micah Gunn and was installed in 2014.
Marine Peace Park was dedicated in 1992, and has become a wonderful destination for locals and tourists.
Take a stroll down the fresh water wharf and enjoy the views of the lake and mountain vistas. It is wheelchair accessible and about 135 meters in length.
The park offers large grassy areas with numerous tables and benches and a very large gazebo for family and friends get-togethers. On those hot summer days you can cool off in the lake from one of several sandy beaches nearby.
