It was built in the 80's to help with TV broadcasting capabilities all through southern Madrid. It was originally built for the 1982 FIFA World Cup at Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to help with televising the game from the stadium to the rest of the world. The tower stands at 761 feet and is one of the tallest building in the city.
