The clock sits in a purpose made alcove, made from stone, above the entrance to the building. Beneath the clock is carved the Harpur coat-of-arms.
The clock face is circular with the background painted blue. The clocks markings look as though they have been pressed from a single piece of metal that are held together by three concentric rings. The outer two rings contain the minute marks between them and the inner two contain the hour marks that are Roman numerals. The marks are coloured gold and the rings are painted blue. The hands, coloured gold, are of the most basic design but serve their purpose.
