This grotto, which is dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, is a peaceful meditative place, and provides a welcome moment to reflect and give thanks for those who are inclined to.
It is inset into a steep hill north of the Main Building of this Catholic University in south Austin. It is between a former dorm and the Main Building, accessible by a stairway.
The altar in the grotto is made of concrete set on a local stone and cement base. It has a very rustic and humble look to it, and is very welcoming to anyone who comes by. A metal cross and statues representing the appearance of the Virgin Mary to three shepherd girls at Fatima in 1917.
