"In 1901 the property at 61 Chestnut Street was purchased and First Church of Christ, Scientist of Oneonta, a corporation, was organized under the provision of an Act of Legislature of the State of New York. The church was dedicated November 25, 1906.
In August 1963 the existing structure at 61 Chestnut Street was demolished and construction begun on the present edifice. On August 2, 1964 the first services were held in the new church. Dedication was held on May 17, 1970."
