This station is a Town of Stonington survey disk, located in the village of Pawcatuck, CT. It is set in the center of the sidewalk at the northwest corner of a junction with Liberty Street (Conn Rt. 2) and Noyes Avenue.
DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1984 IN PAWCATUCK.
IN PAWCATUCK, 0.3 KM (0.2 MI) NORTHWEST ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 2 FROM THE
JUNCTION OF U.S. HIGHWAY 1, AT THE JUNCTION OF NOYES STREET, FLUSH IN
THE SIDEWALK, 1.19 METERS (3.9 FT) NORTHEAST OF THE NORTHEAST CURB OF
THE HIGHWAY, 4.57 METERS (15.0 FT) NORTHWEST OF THE CENTER OF NOYES
STREET, 2.44 METERS (8.0 FT) SOUTHWEST OF A METAL POST WITH SIGN
(NOYES ST.), 1.07 METERS (3.5 FT) EAST OF POWER POLE 580. MARK IS A
CITY OF STONINGTON DISK.
THE MARK IS ABOVE LEVEL WITH HIGHWAY.
The mark can be easily seen from the roadway. Although it appears a bit worn from foot traffic and such, the stamping is still visible.
