EN: The Church of St. Michael stand on an elevation on the eastern outskirts of Wegenstetten. The bell tower at the west end is fully integrated in the floor plan of the nave and protrudes only slightly above its gabled roof. The elliptical chancel at the east end has the same width and height as the nave. The masonry is structured with striking red painted cornices and pilasters.
The church was built in 1741 after plans by Johann Caspar Bagnato, the late Gothic steeple from 1487 was taken from a predecessor church that probably dated back to the 10th century; the parish was first mentioned in 1246.
DE: Die Kirche St. Michael steht auf einer Erhöhung am östlichen Dorfrand von Wegenstetten. Der Kirchturm am westlichen Ende ist vollständig in den Grundriss des Kirchenschiffs integriert und ragt nur wenig über das Satteldach des Kirchenschiffs hinaus. Der elliptische Chor am östlichen Ende ist gleich breit und hoch wie das Schiff. Das mauerwerk ist mit rot bemalten Gesimsen und Lisenen auffällig strukturiert.
Die Kirche wurde 1741 nach Plänen Johann Caspar Bagnato erbaut, wobei der spätgotische Kirchturm aus dem Jahr 1487 von einem Vorgängerbau übernommen wurde. Dieser stammte vermutlich aus dem 10. Jahrhundert; die Pfarrei wurde erstmals 1246 erwähnt.
