A red granite Oklahoma Historical Marker stands on the south side of OK 7, between Atoka and Wapanucka and northeast of Boggy Depot Park, which contains about all that is left of the town of Boggy Depot.

No longer a state park, Boggy Depot Park is under the care of the Chickasaws today. This marker is single-sided, and provides a thumbnail overview of the town's significance:
Site of town noted for distinguished citizens in state history. 1st house built 1837 by Cyrus Harris, later Chickasaw governor. Later Choctaw capital and Overland Mail Stage Stand to San Francisco (1858-61). Home of principal Chief Allen Wright, Choctaw, who named Oklahoma in 1866. Rev. Cyrus Kingsbury, noted missionary buried here.
