This was a planned environmental community in the late 1960s on HW 1, the Pacific Coast Highway above Jenner and the Russian River. The book is about the architectural style and history.

Sea Ranch is now 50 years. It is a special place if one can afford it.
Homes had certain building restrictions, most used natural wood and allowed the exteriors to weather. Also half acre or larger lots.
The book has photos and drawings. 300 pages,indexed.

Because some of the homes are seasonal/ second homes there is security and owners receive id decals for their vehicles. Some are rentals. 2010 population was about 1,300.
Nearest grocery is at Gualala to the north. Post office zip 95497.
Gualal zip is 95445. The nearest hospital facility would be in Sonoma Co. There is an airstrip at Sea Ranch.
They have coastal deer, not mule tail, but the size of greyhound dogs, that graze in the area. This part of California was once known for rhodedendron bushes but the drought is in evidence.
