A bronze Art Nouveau style figure of a female textile worker was created by the French sculptor Leon Cugnot. It honors the contribution of women textile mill workers who made a significant contribution to the development of the village of Turner's Falls during the its industrial past.
The female figure is wearing a sleeveless dress and sandals. She is standing on a circular plinth above a square base with her arms above her head while holding, what appears to be, a hank of yarn in her left hand.
A plaque in front of the sculpture is inscribed:

FOUNDRY: SALIN SA, FRANCE
ROBINSON IRON, ALABAMA, USA
DEDICATED TO THE WOMEN WHO HAVE WORKED IN THE MILLS
IN THE VILLAGE OF TURNER'S FALLS FOR MANY YEARS.
MAY THE CHARM, GRACE AND ELEGANCE OF THIS STATUE
BE A LASTING SYMBOL OF WOMEN AT WORK.
DEDICATED IN 1985 WITH THE REVITALIZATION OF AVENUE A
THROUGH THE STREETSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM.
