This church is in an area that was probably a settlement named New Bethel, since both this church has this name, and a well-preserved former one-room school about a half a mile to the north. The church is about 2.5 miles northwest of Anderson, Missouri. There is a churchyard cemetery just across the road from it, also named New Bethel, of course. There is also a pavilion with pews for holding services outside in good weather.
