This K6 has been restored with loving care even to the extent of having the push-button equipment and enamalled sign above installed, don't know if it's the original equipment but I haven't seen one like this for some time, maybe it came from across the road where there are two modern monstrosities. I can't imagine anyone shipping one onto the islands with the high cost of freight transport these days.

My first encounter with buttons A and B that I remember was in Newcastle-upon-Tyne at the bottom of Ashfield Road East. My mum used to go down to the phone box there and ring her friends or my cousins - they had a phone installed at home, quite a rarity in 1948 - and I had to tag along. 'Wonder what this one does' thought I, and I pressed 'B' and cut off mum's conversation! Clip round the ear but we got our money back!! The start of a long career of doodling with all sorts of things mechanical and electrical.

This K6 is a recent addition to the front garden as it doesn't show up in some older photos of the guest house.
