He born in Kladno, but spent most of his life in Prague. Both his parents were artists Cyril Bouda; father was a school teacher of drawing, mother Anna was a sister of sculptors Stanislav and Vojtech Sucharda.

Czril Bouda graduated in Prague in 1926. He finished studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he was student of Max Švabinský (
visit link) . He was also an assistant of T. F. Simon (
visit link) . In the years 1946-1972 he taught at and later as a professor at the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague and Brandys nad Labem (1964-1972).
