EN: The listed spire of the former church of Saas-Grund is now standing on the cemetery chapel. The old church was at the same location and was demolished in 1948 to enlarge the cemetery, after a new church had been built in 1938/39. Only the lower part of the old church tower was left and integrated into the new cemetery chapel. The pointed, filigree spire tip found a new location on the chapel roof.

The old church existed at least since the 13th century, but was repeatedly damaged or destroyed by natural disasters, and then repaired or rebuilt, using materials from the predecessor when possible. From which of these epochs the tower spire originally originated, I do not know.

DE: Der unter Denkmalschutz stehende Rippenhelm der ehemaligen Kirche von Saas-Grund befindet sich nun auf der Friedhofskapelle. Die Kirche befand sich an der selben Stelle und wurde nach dem Bau einer neuen Kirche 1938/39 im Jahr 1948 abgerissen, um den Friedhof zu vergrössern. Nur der untere Teil der alten Kirchturms wurde stehen gelassen und in die neue Friedhofkapelle integriert. Die spitz zulaufende, filigrane Kirchturmspitze fand auf dem Kapellendach einen neuen Standort.

Die alte Kirche existierte mindestens seit dem 13. Jahrhundert, wurde aber durch Naturkatastrophen mehrmals schwer beschädigt und repariert oder wieder aufgebaut, wobei wenn möglich Material des Vorgängers verwendet wurde. Aus welcher dieser Epochen die Turmspitze ursprünglich stammt, weiss ich nicht.
