Diese Milchbank wurde als Denkmal an die alten Milchbauern und ihre Milchbänke in und um Heidenau herum aufgestellt. Zusätzlich zu der Milchbank ist ein altes Fahrrad mit 2 Milchkannen am Lenker aufgestellt worden, sowie zwei Informationstafeln mit alten Zeitungsartikeln.
Noch bis 1972 wurde die Milch in Kannen abgefüllt und auf ähnlichen Milchbänken an Straßen abgestellt und von Kutschern oder ähnlichen Personen zu den Molkereien in der Umgebung (zuerst Tostedt, später Sittensen und Zeven) transportiert wurden. Nachmittags wurden die Kannen, die dann mit bestellten Produkten wie Molke oder Buttermilch gefüllt waren, zurückgebracht.
Von den ehemals ca. 35 Milchbauern in und um Heidenau existieren heute noch 7.
This milk platform was established as a memorial for the old milk farmers and their milk platforms around Heidenau. In addition to the milk platform and cans, an old bicycle with two cans atteched to the handles, has been put up, as well as two information posts with old newspaper articles.
Until 1972, milk farmers from Heidenau stored milk in these cans and put them onto milk platforms along the roads for others to pick them up and transport them to the dairy (first in Tostedt, later in Sittensen and Zeven). In the afternoon, the cans were brought back, containing ordered products like whey or buttermilk.
From the former 35 milk farmers, only seven still exist nowaday.
