Located on Railroad Street. During harvest, rice was cut by horse-drawn binders, shot in the field, then a thresher was brought to the field and grain was threshed, put into sacks and hauled to the mills. This mural was taken from an actual photo made on the J.W.Leach Farm. The inset shows water being pumped from a well for irrigation. SP remove their depot and tracks so the trains no longer carry rice to the market. Today the downtown area is filled during harvest with 18-wheel trucks that haul the grain to market. The two murals on Railroad Street are lighted at night courtesy of Rice Farmers Co-op.
