EN: The St. Antonier-Hof and the neighboring property are two baroque town houses in the St. Johannsvorstadt. The three upper floors have strongly structured facades with many regularly arranged windows.
From 1297, the property belonged to the Hospital Brothers of St. Anthony, dedicated to care of the sick. After the convent was liquidated in the Reformation, the house came into private hands and was converted into a bourgeois town house. The present appearance probably dates from the 18th century. The ground floor was unfortunately replaced by shop window fronts in the 20th century.
DE: Der St. Antonier-Hof und die benachbarte Liegenschaft sind zwei barocke Stadthäuser in der St. Johannsvorstadt. Die drei Obergeschosse haben stark strukturierte Fassaden mit vielen regelmässig angeordneten Fenstern.
Die Liegenschaft gehörte ab 1297 dem Antoniter-Orden, der sich der Krankenpflege widmete. Nachdem der Konvent in der Reformation aufgehoben wurde, gelangte das Haus in private Hände und wurde zu einem grossbürgerlichen Wohnhaus umgebaut. Das heutige Aussehen dürfte wohl im 18. Jahrhundert entstanden sein. Das Erdgeschoss wurde leider im 20. Jahrhundert durch Schaufensterfronten ersetzt.
