The present Junketings are replicas of the originals. The repilcas were constructed in the winter 2014/2015. They were instaled at Laxey Station during March 2015.
Originally in 1899 there were 3 Junketings. The Junketings when first installed on the Station had thatched roof but these were removed in the 1930's.
The Junketings were used during the summer months by local businesses to a variety of small items for the tram passengers in a similar way to the manner in which W H Smith had concessions at stations in the U.K.
One of the Junketings was demolished at a date which is not recorded but two of the original kiosks remained in place until 2014.
During the Station regeneration project in 2014 the 2 remaining Junketings were removed and have now been replaced by the replicas.
The Kiosks are wood built on an octagonal plan and have usual slatted wood roofs. The exterior panels are so made as to give the impression of being logs which adds to the charm of these little buildings.
