McKee Botanical Garden in Vero Beach, Florida was once a popular tourist attraction along the state's Atlantic coast. When the property was sold to a developer in the mid 1970's, the remaining undeveloped 18 acres lay dormant for over 20 years while efforts were made to save the site. Those 18 acreas are now McKee Botanical Garden and "...serves as an example of environmental stewardship and horticultural inspiration."
There are many Florida botanical gardens, but few with the history of McKee.
