The sundial is located on top of a marble pedestal. On the base of the pedestal is the name Martin. Near the sundial is the gravesite of Edgar Martin, 1868-1930. In the center of the sundial is a large sun with radiant arms. Along the edge of the sundial is an hourglass design and the words "Count The Sunny Hours."
Eastlawn Cemetery is located at 1401 Woodland Avenue in Columbus. The Eastlawn Cemetery was established in 1923 and is still open for new burials. A large proportion of the Chinese American and African American population of the Greater Columbus area is interred at Eastlawn.
