Translation EN :
In 1476, the town hall, which served as the Gewandhaus, was mentioned for the first time (garages were exhibition, sales and warehouses of the Tuchbranche). Later, the Gewandhaus became the city hall, the upper hall was transformed into a council chamber. After the flood disaster of 1818 the building was sold, it served as a beer warehouse and as a malt house for a long time. It was only since the 30s of the last century that it has been home to the city's advice and administration. In front of the town hall is the pillory.
