This 20' tall stainless steel sculpture is located in a small pocket park at Water and Santa Fe. The park is nicely landscaped with a circle of flowers surrounding the concrete path around the sculpture. The sculpture rests upon a concrete plinth within a landscaped circle. The sculpture is of three stainless steel circles - small, medium, and large that intertwine. This sculpture is actually a major feature of downtown Olathe.

Dedicated April 25, 2014

There is an element of growth and community at the heart of the design.
Olathe has a dynamic energy of growth, education, and commerce.
It was important the design reflect these characteristics.

The design is composed of numerous pieces or elements. The intention is
each piece represents different aspects and people of a community.
Each piece is uniquely different and yet relies on one another. The
semi-circular movements emulates community, family,
cycles of giving and renewal.

The sculpture serves as a gateway to the downtown and
also serves as a place of relaxation and rest.

Beth Nybeck received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Northern Iowa. She currently lives and works in Kansas City. She is a metal sculptor and public artist. Nybeck bends and shapes large sheets of metal into abstract elegant sculpture. Her forms are inspired by the natural world. You can often find Nybeck out in the middle of nature, transfixed by the small nuances she discovers. She will point out how the dew hangs within a spider web, or the intricate pattern found on a decaying leaf, or how a field of wheat can look like the ocean on a particularly windy day. You can see the power, grace, movement, and subtle nuances of nature within her artwork.
