This South Carolina historical marker marks the eastern boundary of the Cherokee Nation in the mid-1700. The marker is located just off of North Line Street on a pathway inside of Greer City Park.

The marker's text reads:

INDIAN BOUNDARY LINE
"This marks the eastern Boundary (the present Greenville-Spartanburg county line) between the Cherokee Nation and the province of South Carolina from the end of the Cherokee War (1759-1761) until 1777. In that year the Treaty of Dewitt’s Corner extended the western boundary of South Carolina to the Savannah River."

Erected by City of Greer, South Carolina Department of Public Transportation - Replacing original marker erected in 1959 by the Joyce Scott Chapter - Daughters of the American Revolution.
