Créé en 1920 par un couple d'origine américaine, le parc de Villecroze est un parc arboré qui s'étend sur 2,5 hectares au pied des falaises de tuf dans lesquelles ont été aménagées les grottes troglodytiques avec leurs fenêtres à meneaux.

Cette oasis de fraîcheur est surplombée d'une succession de terrasses et de restanques, autrefois cultivées en jardin d'alimentation.

Le parc recèle nombre d'essences de la région méditerranéenne. On notera pas moins d'une dizaine de variétés d'arbres : cèdre, chêne vert, cyprès cierge, figuier, laurier amande, magnolia, olivier, palmier, pin d'Alep, pin sylvestre, plaqueminier (kaki) et une riche végétation basse : glycine, laurier fleur, pergola de rosiers et de plantes sarmenteuses, pivoine de 80 ans, spirée... Vous y trouverez également de nombreuses topiaires.

Le joyau du parc
Le plus bel élément de ce parc reste cette cascade, haute de 35 mètres, qui trouve sa source sur la commune de Tourtour, coule le long de la paroi et poursuit son chemin dans le ruisseaux qui traverse le parc.

Des grottes sont aménagées dans les falaises de tuf et l'on peut, par ces grottes accéder à l'arrière de la cascade sur un endroit où l'eau était récupérée par les habitants des grottes.

L'eau s'infiltre dans la falaise et alimente un petit lac interne.

du 1er octobre au 31 mars de 9h00 à 17h00
du 1er avril au 30 septembre de 8h30 à 20h30
L'entrée est gratuite.

Created in 1920 by a couple of American origin, Villecroze park is a park sprawled over 2.5 hectares at the foot of the cliffs of tuff in which were cave dwelling cave with their mullion windows .

This oasis of freshness is overhung by a succession of terraces and restanques, formerly grown as a feeding garden.

The park contains many species of the Mediterranean region. There are no less than ten varieties of trees: cedar, holm oak, cypress, fig tree, almond laurel, magnolia, olive, palm, Aleppo pine, Scots pine, khaki and rich vegetation : Wisteria, bay laurel, pergola of roses and plants, peony 80 years, spike ... There are also many topiaries.

The jewel of the park
The most beautiful part of this park is the waterfall, 35 meters high, which finds its source in the town of Tourtour, flows along the wall and continues its way into the streams that crosses the park.

Caves are set up in the tufa cliffs, and through these caves you can reach the back of the waterfall on a spot where the water was collected by the inhabitants of the caves.

Water infiltrates the cliff and feeds a small internal lake.
