A three-dimensional star is mounted on top of a rectangular, pyramid-like base. An elongated bas-relief on the front of the base is framed by the base on its two sides. The bas-relief consists of a bare-chested man with muscular arms holding a depiction of the Alamo in his two upraised hands. The man's arms are flanked on either side with leaves. The relief of the man's torso merges with the commemorative plaque which is right below it.
