This memorial stands on the north side of the Macon County Courthouse grounds in a small plaza with several other monuments and memorials nearby.
The monument consists of a rough hewn plinth with an obelisk, on which a bronze American flag has been installed. Plaque on the plinth reads as follows
"To honor and remember all Americans in service to their country from the Revolution to the operation Desert Storm
July 4, 1991"
