"Chinese prosecutor Zhang Xingzhong tentatively sat in Riverside County Superior Court Judge Mac Fisher’s chair Monday during a tour to learn about the United States criminal justice system.
He was among a group of six Chinese court officials who came from the Gansu province in northern China.
“We just wanted to learn all the specific systems in Riverside County,” Xingzhong said through an interpreter. “It’s very similar, the population growth and some aspects are very similar.”
The group had planned to visit government agencies in Washington, D.C., and New York, but Hurricane Irene, which pummeled the East Coast, changed their course."
