"US ARMY ROLAND
The Roland was an advanced all weather short range air defense system, the result of tri-nation cooperation among France, Germany, and the United States.
The Roland carried 10 supersonic missiles. two missiles were ready for firing in individual launching arms, each backed by four-round magazines that provided rapid, automatic reloading. All 10 missiles could be fired in a few minutes. Both the U.S. Army and the US Army National Guard used the Roland for a period of time.
The Roland is no longer in the Army’s inventory.
