There are many parks that straddle Duck Creek that runs through Davenport, this is just one of them

My visit here was with a Marine I was stationed with 55 years ago in Kaneohe Hawaii. I was told in 1968 he was killed in Vietnam, and found out in 2017 he wa alive and lived in Lacross, WI. We contacted and met half way between out hoes, which turned ou to be Davenport Iowa.
We drove around and found this park, stumbled upon it. We were looking for any park. WE held a small ceremony for another of our friends who was KIA.

We walk around this beautiful and well kept park, cross the pony truss bridge to the other side of Duck Creek, and enjoyed the park all by ourselves.
Well, almost.
The pad which was something at one time, now used for parking, was also being used as a landing strip for model aircraft, and a few drones
