Yosemite falls can be seen all around the valley. The hike from the Yosemite Lodge is about 1.5 miles round trip. You can take the free NPS busses to the trail head from anywhere as well. Yosemite falls was where Ansel Adams took some of his most famous pictures of Yosemite Valley. The falls is seasonal. Only in the spring and summer is the falls roaring, but during the winter there is very little water. I have been here during the spring and most recently January of 2014 and there was barley any water coming down the face of the granite.
