EN: The Helferei - the official residence of a clergyman - is a three-story house with a hipped roof next to the town hall. The house was built in 1786 after the design by Carl A. von Sinner and is stylistically located at the transition between Baroque and Neo-Classical style, but fits in harmoniously with the predominantly late Gothic surroundings.
The house originally served as a Reformed rectory, in 1804 it was bought by the canton and used by the Department of Finance. In 1826 it became a Roman Catholic rectory and since 1876 it is the rectory of the Christian Catholic community.
DE: Die Helferei - der Amtssitz eines Geistlichen - ist ein dreistöckiges Haus mit Walmdach gleich neben dem Rathaus. Das Haus wurde 1786 nach dem Entwurf von Carl A. von Sinner erbaut und liegt stilistisch am Übergang zwischen Barock und Klassizismus, fügt sich aber trotzdem harmonisch in die mehrheitlich spätgotische Umgebung.
Das Haus diente ursprünglich als reformiertes Pfarrhaus, 1804 wurde es vom Kanton gekauft und vom Finanzdepartement genutzt. 1826 wurde es römisch-katholisches Pfarrhaus und seit 1876 ist es das Pfarrhaus der christkatholischen Gemeinde.
