"58. 111 W. 5th Street, c. 1900. This one-story commercial building has a corbeled brick cornice. The storefront still retains its original four columns, though wood siding and small display windows have replaced the transoms and storefront windows. [C]
"The original business handled fresh and salt meats and was owned by R. B. Greger. "A fine line of fresh beef, pork, fish and oysters in season are handled and carefully selected to meet the demands of the particular and discriminating people who shop there. 1000 square feet of floor space is used for the display of his products, while three capable assistants are employed to wait upon the trade. Mr. Greger was born in Champaign, IL, in 1881 and received his education in that city. He is a member or the I.O.O.F. and K. of T.M. and was a meat clerk for a number of years before starting business for himself."' ~ NRHP Nomination Form
"Main facade has been altered very little; sandblasted brick has corbeled decoration; 4 stone or concrete pilasters articulate the 3 bays; window air conditioner obtrudes from door transom." ~ Fulton Historic Survey pat 1, page 378
