EN: The Grosshaus stands in the upper town of Burgdorf near a small square with a fountain. The four-storey building has a saddle roof, which is hipped on the east side, and a strongly structured façade. Particularly valuable are the original decorations of the interiors, which also include very rare ornaments made of paper mache.
The house was built in 1633 for a wealthy merchant. Today, there is a bookstore on the ground floor.
DE: Das Grosshaus steht in der Oberstadt von Burgdorf bei einem kleinen Platz mit einem Brunnen. Das vierstöckige Gebäude hat ein an der Ostseite gewalmtes Satteldach und eine stark strukturierte Fassade. Besonders wertvoll sind die originalen Dekorationen der Innenräume, wozu auch sehr seltene Ornamente aus Papiermaché gehören.
Das Haus wurde 1633 für einen reichen Kaufmann gebaut. Heute befindet sich im Erdgeschoss eine Buchhandlung.
